Teacher Jack had a nine piece band with a brass section in Atlantic City, New Jersey called “The Tailsnatchers”. He was the founding member and the youngest. Most of the other members are now dead. Following a mutiny, Teacher Jack was kicked out of his own band because the other members wanted a casino contract which was in sharp contrast to Teacher Jack’s originals. After he was kicked out of his own band, Teacher Jack watched “Pirates of the Caribbean” and saw a similarity between himself being kicked out of his own band to Jack Sparrow being kicked off of his own ship. It was then that he began dressing as Captain Jack Sparrow on the boardwalk of Atlantic City. “I was the only talent in that band, the rest were copycats who did not know key signatures or even basic music theory.”- Teacher Jack.
