Teacher Jack loves Chinese police and sometimes will give them free lessons in oral English. He possesses several documents to prove that he has no criminal record in China or the USA. In short, Teacher Jack can legally work in China or the USA and has over thirty years of continuous employment with no gaps in between employment periods.

Teacher Jack loves Chinese police and will give them free English lessons upon their request. “I appreciate everything that Chinese police do in keeping my wife and son safe here in China. China is the safest country that I have ever lived in. I believe Chinese police deserve a higher salary for the fine job that they are doing and female police deserve a foot massage in a hotel room after standing all day. It is called gratitude.” -Teacher Jack.

These above documents prove that Derrick Pistorius, also known as Teacher Jack, has no criminal history and is therefore cleared to work in China and the USA.

2021- Present EICC: The International Children’s College of Dalian, China. Teacher Jack teaches English language with reading strategies and critical thinking skills such as: Author’s Purpose, Inferences & Drawing Conclusions and explain the major difference between these two, Predictions, Evaluation, Asking Questions, Cause & Effect, Compare & Contrast, Previewing, Summarization, Plot Summary & Summary and the major difference betweeen the two, Genre and Subgenre, the three elements of a story, Fiction vs. Non Fiction, Literature vs. Informational Text, the Scientific Method with the relationship between hypotheses, experiment, and drawing scientific conclusions with the reading strategies of inferences, proof and drawing literary conclusions, how to write a research paper vs. how to write a master’s theses, writing poetry and the elements of poetry, explaining the table of contents, glossary, introduction, conclusion, teaching thesaurus skills and dictionary skills and more.

Teacher Jack teaches the youngest students at EICC and the oldest. He enjoys both for different reasons. The younger students love how he plays guitar to teach them how to read using music. The older students appreciate his nearly infinite wisdom. All students love his classroom management. The staff at EICC find Teacher Jack easy to work with and he does not mind coming in on his days off to cover for the other American teachers when they are sick.

Chinese girls, in particular, love to learn English from Teacher Jack because he is patient and entertaining.

Chinese girls eager to go camping with Teacher Jack. Teacher Jack barbecued with them, played games with them, and played witht them inside a tent.

Many students prefer to read outdoors and many play with Teacher Jack’s balls or throw his frisbee around.

Teacher Jack often brings his son camping too. He loves , too, loves the outdoors and like his father is an expert camper.

New Century English

2021-2013 New Century English: Teacher Jack sometimes does work for New Century English as a volunteer. He participated in their summer school program each year that he was in Dalian, China. In addition, he has given private lessons to the owner’s daughter and was honored that he was selected to do so.

Teacher Jack worked closely with beautiful Teacher Lydia giving classroom instruction. Teacher Lydia will attest to the Teaching ability of Teacher Jack.

Tsingtao Beer

2022-2023 Tsingtao Beach Bar at Xinghai Square: Teacher Jack’s job was to drink beer and attract customers to the bar. Teacher Jack was delighted to drink the gret tasting Tsingtao all evening and all summer long. He did not mind working over time. Sometimes he would dress as Captain Jack Sparrow to promote the bar.

2018-2021 Teacher Jack taught at this English Training School and was the top teacher at his branch in Zhongshan. He was instrumental in teacher other teachers how to teach by frequently posting his lessons on the school WeChat group. Teacher Jack also taught at a local middle school through TPR and also at a pharamcuetical company. Teacher Jack was beloved here and will get the highest recommendation from this school which is still operating in Zhuhai, Guangdong, although Teacher Jack’s branch in Zhongshan was forced to close due to changes in academic policy from Beijing.

I knew the pedogogy that TPR wanted-teacher to teacher, teacher to student and then student to student English conversation. I was easily TPR’s best and brightest teacher and I aspired to reach the top position of this company but then the pandemic came and changed everything. Next, Beijing changed its policies and my school closed forcing me to move to Dalian. China.”- Teacher Jack

Teacher Jack as Santa Claus with the female Chinese teachers at TPR. They loved him! Teacher Jack even took them all shopping once per month to alleviate any tensions that built up in the classroom. Teacher Jack knows how to make Chinese girls happy……take them shopping and give them money.

Teacher Jack had a fantastic relationship with his boss, staff, parents and students so they all gave him fantastic praise daily.

The girls, especially, loved Teacher Jack and his methods of teaching. Teacher Jack did not mind spending his own money on materials needed for teaching, like the scooters below.

“My favorite age group to teach for Chinese girls is age 10-12 because they are at their sweetest and are still made of sugar and spice and everything nice. It’s all downhill after that.”- Teacher Jack

Teacher Jack played a variety of English games at TPR and taught his games to other teachers. His TPR school was owned by a beautiful and intelligent Chinese woman named Wing. She only hired the youngest, most qualified, and most beautiful Chinese teachers. This made Teacher Jack extremely happy at work. She owned several schools and sold cosmetics. ” I love Wing. She is the smartest school principal that I know. Were she not a woman, I would call her an intellectual.”- Teacher Jack

He holds them close to his heart and considers it a tragedy that the school was forced to close due to changes in Beijing policy against English Training Center Schools.

Teacher Jack demands a quick answer in English or his girls will suffer a painful consequence.

Teacher Jack is very patient with the youngest girls and is careful not to scare them in any way. ” Just seeing an American for the first time is intimidating for young Chinese students, so I am extra patient with them and strive to build their confidence.”- Teacher Jack

Teacher Jack gives clear instructions to young learners when playing a game or doing an activity.

Middle School and high school girls appreciate Teacher Jack’s efforts in the classroom. They often gave him gifts or took him out to dinner with their parents.

Teacher Jack graduated hundreds of students at TPR and was happy to contribute to the Zhongshan community. ” At graduation, their parents are there and they are so proud. I am honored because I know that I taught English to the best of my ability each class.”- Teacher Jack

Teacher Jack teaches mathematics and English to a high school girl going abroad to Australia. They were alone together for two hours per day for two weeks. Upon leaving, she was fully prepared to begin school in Australia. Teacher Jack not only taught her English and math, but how to act around boys from other countries and how to make friends. Teacher Jack recommends “How to Make Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie, a book the changed a young and shy Teacher Jack forever.

Teacher Jack has several interesting ways to settle classroom disputes. One of them is the potato game shown above. The students love it and the mathematics of it are acutally quite complicated.

Teacher Jack made many appearances as Captain Jack Sparrow at TPR English Training School.

Teacher Jack took the entire Chinese staff shopping after giving them 200 rmb. He did this to alleviate any tensions between himself and staff members. This strategy also diminished any tensions that arose between the Chinese teachers. It worked and the workplace was always a friendly and happy place! ” I learned this from my Chinese wife. Money cures all of her problems.”-Teacher Jack

Through TPR, Teacher Jack taught at a local Middle School getting more experience with large classes.

Teacher Jack was a smash hit amongst middle schoolers. They really enjoyed his guitar playing and teaching methods.

Ferring Pharmacuetical Company

2018-2021 Ferring Pharmacuetical Company: Teacher Jack taught Business English to doctors and staff at this company. Teacher jack planned his lessons and gave them all an opportunity to converse in English to an authentic American. Teacher Jack taught them hotel terminology, how to plan business meetings, and discussed retail and distributors…..etc
